What is Pony Club?
(Mission statement)
The United States Pony Clubs, Inc., develops character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through a program that teaches the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports.

Where is it?
There are hundreds of active Pony Clubs all over the country and even worldwide! Other countries such as Great Britain and Canada also participate in PC. Our particular club (Sleeping Giant) provides to members located in and around Bethany, Woodbridge, Orange, Guilford, and Naugatuck Connecticut.

Who can join?
Pony Club is directed to youth between the ages of 7-25, although for our particular club  there is no set age minimum. Please inquire with any questions!

Do I have to own a pony to participate?
It doesn't matter if you own a horse or pony as long as the mount is suitable according to the PC policy. The word "pony" in the United States refers to the British Pony Club and was originally used to refer to the size of the rider, not the mount. Having your own mount is useful of course, but in Sleeping Giant there are many members without horses or ponies of their own who still have lots of fun participating in the unmounted parts of Pony Club.
